While employed at the Sheriff's Office, I have held several positions. I started as a Communications Specialist and was promoted to a shift supervisor. I was sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff and assigned to the Detention Center and achieved the rank of Corporal.I transfered to the Patrol Division as a Master Deputy and was quickly promoted to a Corporal. I was promoted to Patrol Sergeant and supervised A-Squad dayshift for several years. October of 2017 I was transferred to the Highway Safety Traffic Squad Sergeant position to supervise the specialized unit. Fauquier County is 665 square miles which contains 7 major highways. Fauquier County is considered a commuter county with high traffic conditions. As a patrol Sergeant I supervised 8 deputies and would oversee daily operations of the shift and coordinate all scheduling. I responded to emergency and non emergency calls for service. I currently supervise the Highway Safety Traffic Squad and Motor Carrier Deputies. We respond to all traffic complaints and conduct extra enforcement and conduct traffic studies working jointly with Fauquier County Transportation Committees, Virginia State Police, VDOT and NHTSA. We have a growing Motor Carrier Unit that conducts inspections on commercial motor vehicles daily. I have specialized training in Fire Investigation, Advanced Crash Reconstruction and Motor Carrier Investigations. I'm an active General and Driving Instructor at the RRCJA and teach EVOC and Virginia Code Classes.I've been certified as expert witness as a Fire Investigator in Fauquier County JDR Court. I am considered an expert in Crash Reconstruction and as a Driving Instructor by my supervisors. I have been actively involved with internal investigations because of my specialized training and experience as a crash reconstructionist and as a driving instructor.
