Reporting to Rotatives Manufacturing Manager. Applying a Six Sigma approach to process improvement. Delivered a 30% reduction in Defects per Unit (DPU) across three manufacturing facilities in 2015, resulting in cost savings of £8.2M in 2015.Responsibilities:• Prioritise CI activities of a team of 20 Manufacturing Engineers and data collectors• Interface between local Manufacturing team and Design teams based in Bristol, Derby and Germany• Facilitate Kaizen events with Engineers and Operations• Promote data driven decision making focusing on capability studies to optimise the Cpk through root cause analysis techniques.Project – Cost ReductionResponsible for delivery of all projects funded through the cost reduction board. Projects varied in size and scale from individual engineers, for example, introducing carbide tooling to replace high-speed steel (£100K spend, £160K pa benefit), to a team of 7 engineers working to optimize the broaching operations across site (£1.5M spend, £3.1M pa benefit).Responsibilities:• Identify cost reduction opportunities & develop business case• Co-ordinate individual project leaders to deliver benefits• Report monthly to cost reduction board• Responsible for unit cost setting for annual budget

Responsible for the delivery of the manufacturing process for the upgraded fuel and hydraulic tanks on the 735B and 740B articulated trucks. Working closely with the design and production departments to optimise the design for manufacture and delivering a robust production method.Duties:• Design for manufacture (Six Sigma / DFMEA)• Jig & tool design & acquisition• Develop standard operating procedures• Shop floor line layout design• Project management – production line upgrade

This role involved optimising the OEE of a fully automated, high volume, continuous production line. Manufacturing polymer based 9000 series respirator masks in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment. Regulated by US Food & Drug Administration.
