• Independently design and review relay protection systems, SCADA and automation systems, primary electrical equipment monitoring systems, communication systems, and control systems for major midwestern utility customers.• Prepare all electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, plan/section views, and other needed documentation for project construction packages. Analyze protection schemes and present recommendations to clients.• Prepare detailed bills of material listing all materials needed for project construction, obtain external vendor quotes, and recommend alternate devices and materials for timely construction while optimizing for reliability and limiting costs.• Create point list assignments, program SCADA RTU’s and develop settings for communication processors. Design RTU-based graphical interfaces for real time metering and alarm annunciation.Perform DC and AC system calculations and analysis to ensure station battery and auxiliary power systems will support new equipment and maintain operability even with loss of station service power.• Develop tools for document control management, produce internal specifications, and write job aids to support rapidly changing client requirements.
