Robert Neale (Rob) has been an active participant in the Resources and Energy sectors of the global economy for some 45+ years. Rob graduated from the University of Queensland in 1968 with a First Class Honours Degree in Geology and Mineralogy with an additional major in Chemistry, after completing secondary school at Brisbane Boys College.Rob is an Australian citizen living in Brisbane and was recently the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of New Hope Corporation (NHC), an Australian diversified energy company (coal, oil and gas), listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). Rob elected to retire from NHC on 31 January 2014, after 17.5 years of service.Previously, Rob worked with Esso Australia Ltd and Exxon Coal & Minerals Company for 23 years on resource and energy projects. Consequently, Rob has wide and diversified international experience providing leadership in multiple countries covering exploration, development, construction and operations of coal, base metals and precious metal mines in the resources industry; as well as exploration, development and production from oil and gas conventional and non-conventional fields.KEY RESOURCES INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE- Open cut and underground coal, copper, zinc mines- Exploration, development and production of conventional oil and gas fields- Operation and production of coal seam gas fields- Exploration, development, construction and operation of coal and copper-zinc mines- Operation and expansion of ship loading facilities- Other non-conventional fuels – oil shale, coal to liquids and gas to liquids- Uranium exploration and developmentRob’s infrastructure background includes construction and operation of water pipelines, rail in-loading and out-loading facilities and five bulk commodity ship loading facilities.Rob has broad international experience, having worked on projects in USA, Chile, Colombia, Canada, UK, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, South Africa, and Australia.
