Prior to starting Asheville Engine, Inc., I owned and operated a successful Distributorship for an International organization for 26 years with as many as 50 direct sales people under my leadership. I reached the level of being one of the Top 36 Distributors in the World. After 5 years of retirement, I started Asheville Engine in 2012 and have since become a very well respected supplier of Ford Powerstroke and Navistar diesel engines. In 2012, our two man, part time operation had gross revenues of $380,000 and without any advertising, grew to over $2 million in 2015. I had no intention of working full time when I started Asheville Engine but repair shops and customers from coast to coast took to social media, talking about the quality of our engines and our outstanding customer service. With annual sales of almost 3 million for each of the past 3 years and net profits of almost 20%, Asheville Engine is not only a lucrative business but could easily gross 10 million in annual sales if somebody wanted to expand the business to include part sales or to branch out into the Duramax or Cummins platforms. This would also be an excellent opportunity for a fleet supplier to own a company to manufacture the engines that they are supplying for their fleet customers, giving them two income streams. At over 65 years old and having founded multiple businesses, there will be a time in which I will either sell or possibly hire an individual to handle the installation troubleshooting and occasional Warranty diagnostics which is the part that I still do. I'm putting this out there only to let people know that, at some point, I do plan to retire again...I just don't know when.
