I provided client officers advice on a range of matters including enforcement, certificates of lawfulness and use, freedom of information requests and general planning advice.I was involved in contentious matters and instructed leading Counsel in a number of matters. I was involved in the landmark High Court decision of Fidler v Secretary of Communities, Local Government and Environment [2010] EWHC 143, which related to the issue of substantial completion of an unlawful dwelling.

I provided planning advice to mainly private clients including a large volume house-builder and a Premier League Football Team.I was involved in contentious and non-contentious matters and had experience relating to s 106 planning agreements, highway matters and general planning advice.

I worked in the Local Government and Environment team which represented a number of local authorities throughout Auckland and New Zealand.I was involved in both contentious and non-contentious resource management matters and had some experience in Environment Court hearings and mediations. I provided advice on many aspects of the RMA 1991.I was invited to become an Associate in January 2006.
