In my role as a Site Reliability Engineer working on the Cloud Engineering team, I worked closely with our application development teams on architecture and deployment strategies using AWS and DevOps automation tools.Much of my focus during my employment at Colony Brands had been working with development teams to develop practices using tools such as git, Terraform, CI/CD build pipelines and AWS cloud services to architect, secure, build, and deploy multi-region scalable applications. My team’s focus was on cloud technologies, we explored new services to see how they may fit into our current practice and work on the secure and proper deployment of resources and applications.

In my current role as an IT Systems Engineer I am responsible for the local VMware infrastructure as well our Azure and AWS deployments. Utilizing ARM, CloudFormation, and Chef for infrastructure and application deployment where possible. I work closely with the Systems and Application development teams to deploy, troubleshoot, and optimize applications and related infrastructure.

In my role as a Cloud Engineer and team lead at Colony Brands I was heavily involved all aspects of data center support with a focus on AWS, vmware, Citrix, and Microsoft technologies. Much of my focus over the last 18 months of my time at Colony Brands was the migration of on-premis applications and infrastructure to AWS utilizing DevOps practices and utilities to provide a cost effective and durable environment. Two of the projects I lead related to this effort were the deployment of XenDesktop 7.9 utilizing CloudFormation, OpsWorks, and PowerShell scripting, for a completely automated deployment. The Citrix farm supported 2500 users between AWS and the on-prem infrastructure. The second was utilizing the same AWS tools to deploy a real time and batch process application running on RedHat.My responsibility also included the overall architecture of the XenApp/XenDesktop environment that supports 2500 users, as well as the initial deployment of AWS WorkSpaces.I was also responsible for enterprise vmware environment as well as remote site implementations consisting 100's of vm’s across multiple sites.

I was part of the North American Data Center Operations team. Acted as the technical lead responsible for management of corporate datacenter vmware environment which includes over 30 hosts, as well as smaller remote deployments. I was the project lead responsible for consolidating all smaller data center vmware hosts into one central vCenter instance.
