I served as the primary Operations Chaplain for the 1st TSC in the CENTCOM operating environment. I was responsible for the integration of Religious Support and Religious Support Teams (RSTs) into the mission of the 1st TSC throughout the area of operations. I supported and enabled the 1st TSC Deputy Command Chaplain in his mission to supervise and mentor 1st TSC RSTs in theater. I coordinated religious support among 30+ RSTs and am responsible to provide Chaplain support to units without organic Chaplain coverage. I also served as the senior pastor for the Liturgical Service on Camp Arifjan.

I completed a Th.D. in New Testament at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, Germany. I investigated the use of story in the Letter to the Hebrews. I examined the author's use of a particular text to show how he used the text and the story behind it to shape his argument and to draw his audience into a greater story. I offer a critique of and substitute for the dominant paradigm of interpretation for the letter. I examine the development of this paradigm throughout history and show that it has led to a loss of a coherent, biblical understanding of the letter, its theology and its place in the story of redemption. I offer an alternative, supported by Augustine and Luther, that captures the emphasis the author places on faith and unbelief. It does justice to the story of redemption and the biblical and theological commitments of the author, while seeking to maintain faithfulness to the historical situation of the letter.

I have served as Pulpit Supply for several churches in Germany including Trinity Reformed Church (PCA) in Landstuhl, Covenant Fellowship Church (PCA) in Stuttgart and Munich International Community Church.As a Pastoral Intern I planned and led worship services, preached, taught Sunday School and volunteered at a local assisted living facility.

I served as a Chaplain Candidate in the Army Reserve while completing pastoral studies (MDiv) at Covenant Theological Seminary. As a Candidate I worked with the Battalion staff to provide mentoring to 270 Reserve Soldiers and advisement to commanders and staff as on the job training. I supported six companies in three different cities in Missouri. I planned and coordinated events and training for the soldiers and families. I acted independently and in coordination with a supervisor stationed in California.
