My teaching career includes experience working in metropolitan, regional and remote school communities as an Upper and Middle Primary teacher in a range of different educational settings. I am truly passionate about education and enjoy my job immensely. Preparing the next generation of students to be successful, innovative and empathetic when they leave formal schooling is a fulfilling and humbling experience. I have recent experience with coaching teachers in how to effectively implement the Digital Technologies and Media Arts strands of the Australian Curriculum (as well as other STEM subjects), working with each class to maximise the use of the technologies available while introducing new resources and ideas wherever possible. My teaching and leadership experience includes the positions of Head of eLearning, Smart Classrooms Accredited Facilitator, Digital Pedagogy Coach/ICT Administrator, and Experienced Senior Teacher.One of my chief interests is digital pedagogy, to prepare students for an ever changing world where creativity, collaboration, innovation and imagination are key. I believe that students need and want to learn through engaging learning activities that are hands-on, meaningful, and relevant. My career goal is to lead teachers in providing students with challenging and authentic learning experiences within a supportive and caring environment. I believe in creating an environment that values and respects diversity, encourages curiosity, creativity and passion, and which provides all students, regardless of ability level, with opportunities to achieve their full potential.Colleagues know me as a helpful, approachable and accommodating teammate who is always available to assist and mentor them, working together to achieve common goals. In 2016/7 I successfully completed the Regional Aspiring Leaders Program (Metropolitan Region) professional development course, which included many worthwhile leadership experiences that I am keen to develop further.I am experienced working with a wide range of digital technologies including VR, AR (Google expeditions, Cardboard, etc.); Osmo, Dash / Dot, BeeBot, Sphero, Edison, Lego NXT / EV3 robotics (and programming apps/software); MicroBit, Scratch, Tynker, Hopscotch coding platforms; iPads/iMovie, etc.; OpenShot video editor; Tello drones; and 3D printing. I am also keenly aware of the importance of the design thinking methodology and how this can be incorporated into Design Technologies, STEM, as well as other learning areas.
