“The views expressed here reflect only my personal views and are not the views of my employer.”Rob Reitz is a senior commercial title officer with the Minneapolis office of First American Title Insurance Company’s National Commercial Services Division.Rob earned his B.A. degree in Classical Studies Humanities at St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, with minor concentrations in Theology, Latin, and Ancient and Biblical Greek. He has been examining and underwriting in the title insurance industry since 1986, and has expanded his experience in the industry working with claims administration and regulatory compliance since 1999. Rob has served on the Legislative Committee of the Minnesota Land Title Association since 2002, and was Chair of that committee from 2004 -2006. During that time, the committee worked with a consortium of private and public real estate industry groups called the Minnesota Property Records Education Partners (MN PREP) and the Minnesota Association of County Officers (MACO) to update the recording laws in Minnesota and establish the uniform statewide recording fee. Those groups also participated in a state task force to develop and implement electronic recording of real estate documents in the State of Minnesota. Rob continues to serve on related industry committees and continues to be active with the current Electronic Real Estate Recording Commission, which oversees and addresses electronic recording issues, implementation, and promotion in Minnesota.
