I am an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician with an interest in Automation of controls systems. For the past 10 years i have been providing preventative and reactive maintenance as well as completing small project upgrades to a wide range of areas in food & beverage manufacturing from bottling/canning process lines, packaging machinery, site services (boilers, CIP set's, chemical dosing systems) , water treatment plants (RO and waste water), malt processing and everything else that gets thrown my way. Before this i worked in the mining industry for 5 years where i covered various roles from fixed plant maintenance, de-watering and HV & LV power distribution. My interest into the automation side of my job has seen me completing courses on PLC programming, visualization screens (HMI'S), Networking and specific VSD's. I have very strong computing skills which assists me in this line of work. I would like to continue to develop in this area in my future roles. I also have a passion for root cause analysis where i really enjoy the challenge of finding problems/road blocks (big and small) and implementing RCA methods to overcome these. I find it very rewarding when a problem is identified and then we develop solutions to fix it, put them into place and see the outcome of improved machine efficiency or improved water/power usage. Outside of work i am a husband, a father and an avid sports lover. I have an interest in nearly every sport but especially golf where i still like to try and get out and play 1 to 2 rounds a week (which is getting very tough). In the past i played a lot of team sports especially football (AFL) where i have captained and coached teams. I really enjoyed the leadership roles i played in sport and would like to convert these into the workplace one day given the right opportunity.
