Rob is a Berlin-based lighting designer and architect with a strong background in architectural lighting. Since mid-2023, he has been working with **Jack Be Nimble**, a Berlin-based lighting design studio known for its innovative approach to lighting design.Rob’s collaboration with the painter **Sebastian Menzke** began with initial ideas in 2018, culminating in the launch of a unique light art project at the end of last year. This project explores the integration of analog painting with advanced lighting techniques to create dynamic, immersive artworks.Previously, Rob served as a project manager at **Blieske Architects Lighting Designers**, where he managed lighting design projects for various museums. His work during this time led to three nominations for the German Lighting Design Award, with one project winning, and the team was honored as Lighting Designer of the Year 2024.Since 2022, Rob has been a lecturer in Presentation Techniques for the MA in Architectural Lighting Design at Wismar University. He also teaches Advanced Lighting Design for the MA in Interior Design at Berlin International University, a position he has held since 2019.Rob’s career also includes a significant role as a design assistant at Horton Lees Brogden Lighting Design in New York City in 2017. He holds two Master of Arts degrees—one in Architectural Lighting Design (2018) and one in Architecture (2016)—both from Wismar University, as well as experience from an exchange term at Shenyang Jianshu University in China.Outside his professional work, Rob has a background in graphic design and enjoys sailing, photography, and pottery. He has also contributed to various projects, including video concepts and social media events for the IES Lumen Awards 2018 in New York and lighting concepts for exhibitions in Germany.
