Mr. Schumann has been responsible for the on-going coordination, control, and quality assurance of various projects (or project components) undertaken by Manitoba Hydro International. These projects have included a major contract to manage the Transmission Company of Nigeria, a major Transmission System Operations Improvement Project in Saudi Arabia, an assessment of the O&M program and corresponding resourcing requirements for a proposed 2500 MWatt HVDC System in Southern Chili, Live - Line Training in Uganda, Electrical Safety Training in Moldova, Restructuring of MEPSO in India, Management Training for Executives from NEPA (Nigeria), various “Study Tours” in Canada by delegations from India, China, and Nigeria.

Hvdc Engineering - Dorsey Station (Winnipeg, Mb)

Rob was responsible for the on-going analysis of the 3800 MWatt HVDC transmission system equipment. This included identifying performance measures and targets, equipment performance gaps, and recommending the appropriate remedial action. One of the major duties was to lead the station’s Performance Review Team, which met monthly to monitor the performance measurement results of the station. This also included a review of all forced outages that impacted the stations capabilities, recommending performance enhancing actions, and monitoring the implementation.

Dorsey Hvdc Converter Station - Winnipehg, Mb

Mr. Schumann was responsible for the implementation of the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program at the three HVDC Converter Stations. This included the development of the maintenance standards for over ninety different equipment types in use at the HVDC sites, and ensuring that the standards were used as the basis for the maintenance program on the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
