Rob has run Racon Consulting for more than 12 years. He provides consulting services on setting up and delivering aircraft interior projects to world leading airlines, aircraft operators and seating companies, utilising his detailed knowledge of the aircraft interior business, and a particularly deep knowledge of the premium aircraft seating business. Rob has a unique blend of experience with strong technical and project management knowledge, having worked on more than 70 programmes with many seat, monument and supporting suppliers in addition to Boeing, Airbus and several aircraft overhaul organisations. Rob has a reputation for delivering projects. Rob has recently been working for Finnair on their long-haul fleet-wide introduction of new business class, premium economy and economy seats. Previous customers included United Airlines with the new Polaris lie-flat business class seat, Jet Airways (India) on various projects over eight years including new Boeing 737 MAX cabins, new A330 cabins in addition to Boeing 777 and A330 reconfigurations, and AirTanker on A330 VIP cabin conversion for the carriage of senior UK Government officials and the UK Royal Family. Rob has also worked for a number of seating suppliers on new premium seating projects.Rob has recently joined the Counterpoint Market Intelligence team, focusing on analysis, reporting and consultancy on the aircraft interiors market.Rob has 40 years aerospace experience, beginning at Rolls-Royce, which included six years at Director level, before starting his own business. His early career focus was on project management and factory operational management. Rob went on to work as Engineering and Programmes Director for Contour Aircraft Seating (now Safran Seats GB) where he was responsible for defining and leading business and first class seat and monument development. Rob has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of Bath, is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers in the UK and holds a Masters in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Warwick.
