Recruited to deliver and launch Finance for Sheffield - ‘Sheffield Money’, an ambitious and innovative solution, to a big problem. Taking this newly formed CBS from its initial concept stage to a fully functioning organisation. Developing and implementing a suite of polices and procedures that comply with strict Financial Conduct Authority regulations. With full marketing, PR and brand control and brief to build awareness with both local and national partners. Complete budgetary and financial control. Key Achievements to Date:• Significant national and local media coverage of launch, which has created interest from central and local government and also leading social funders. • Development and implementation of clear vision, polices and strategy for all business functions, which included being the first IPS to be fully authorised by the FCA.• Launched innovative brand which includes a comprehensive customer facing interactive website designed to handle in excess of 50,000 applications per annum.• Created a concept that was able to be replicated across other cities - recognised by others as a significant new intervention for responsible finance.• Delivered to budget and timeline creating a culture of partnership working.• Implemented a culture of teamwork where individuals are encouraged to work creatively and innovative.

With responsibility for all business development, fundraising, marketing and PR, my role was to develop and deliver the charity’s business strategy creating new business partnerships, across all income streams, whilst maintaining existing ones. Seeking new business opportunities arising from any Government initiatives, through close engagement with the relevant Departments (e.g. DfE, MOJ & Cabinet Office), other major organisations and large awarding bodies. This included, large and significant corporate relationships together with leading Trusts and Foundation, examples of existing partnerships include Standard Life, Barclays Bank, The Royal British Legion, Help 4 Heroes and the Private Equity Foundation. Developed, implemented and updated the charities marketing strategy. Ensuring it was both creative and innovative whilst utilising the appropriate media. Maximising the charity brand, raising awareness of the benefits and opportunities. Developed implemented and updated the charities public, media, investor relations and internal communications strategy.

Responsible for the day to day accounts and all compliance matters, ensuring budgets and targets were kept and reviewed also making sure that advice given complied with legislation. Previous roles have included sales and marketing, human resources, the media, financial sales and debt advisor. . I was the pensions expert for Bargate IFA and made presentations to large and small companies and their workforces both in small groups and to larger audiences. My work involved negotiating up to and including board level as well as being able to explain difficult contracts, investments and situations to the employees. Financial services are a very complex business and it is important that professional relationships are built between client and provider to ensure confidence and understanding. Through my role as an IFA I also gave debt advice and counselling.

As company secretary and director this company was started by myself from scratch to provide personnel to the Woolworth’s distribution centre, my roles were very hands on, I was the main contact point 24 hours a day to provide staff at sometimes very short notice and unsociable hours to cover work that was required. It was important that relationships were built on trust and with an understanding of the end users requirements. This is a very competitive, high-pressured environment where you need to be able to, deliver, communicate extremely well, with a wide range of people, from managers on the shop floor, who have deadlines and targets to meet, to a person who maybe in between jobs and looking for basic temporary work.
