The 18 years on the health service as a Biomedical Scientist and later as a Senior Biomedical Scientist allowed me to develop the skills needed to keep a busy hospital laboratory focussed and on track to serve the needs of its users. These are skills I transfered over to my current role as Haematology Application Specialist. In this role I utilise my knowledge and expertise gained, to deliver the best solution for the customers I support. My knowledge of Haematology and Data Management and Laboratory workflows, allow me to work alongside laboratory personnel to deliver a tailor made and innovative solution, using the product we supply. My aim is always to deliver high quality customer focused training and ongoing support, to empower laboratory personell to deliver the service needed in the continually challenging and demanding diagnostic environment.Out of work my main interests include Photography (traditional and 360), Video editing, Virtual Reality, Movies, Good books and Korean Culture and exploring ways of applying these interests into both my personal and work environments.Video Editing and Broadcast Skills:I have begun using these skills to formulate training materials for use by customers who are unable to attend in-house courses. Currently finalising a set of training videos to be tried out by a customer.During this Covid 19 pandemic I have employed these skills practically and leading the transition of my local church services to an Online service platform. The elements of the service are supplied to me as video, audio and presentations and I edit and produce the complete recorded service (using PowerDirector 365) for inclusion on the our church Youtube channel (which I manage and maintain) and also for Broadcast on Sunday mornings. The Sunday am broadcast is managed by myself using Free worship to cue up the service elements, Open Broadcast Software (OBS) to handle the stream, Facebook live as the target service. I have succesfully done this weekly from March 2020 to present day). Virtual Reality: Use of VR/XR/AR is established as a training tool in several sectors. Using Unity and Unreal engine (self taught and using online training), I am attempting to develop AR and VR training environments to investigate their practical use within my current work sector. Currently studying the Korean Language via the italki language learning platform under one of their professional teachers. Studying both French and Japenese informally via other learning applications.
