Rob BiographyRob is a highly experienced mining practitioner who conducts insightful, multidisciplinary assessments of risk and recommends ameliorating actions in mining projects and operations.Rob's career spanned 40 years of Mining, Engineering and General Management experience with the De Beers Group of Companies. During that time Rob held leadership positions at Namdeb, Finsch, De Beers Marine, and Kimberley Mines. He also headed the De Beers Technical offices in both Moscow and Johannesburg. He carried responsibilites for and served as a board member of numerous wholly owned and joint venture companies in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Canada. Rob's most recent role was povision of assurance to the De Beers Group that their investments in current operations and future projects would deliver the anticipated value. He led a highly specialised, multi- disciplinary team of mining, processing and engineering specialists whose remit included analytical reviews of mine safety, mine design, operations performance and costs. This function included technical leadership development and continuous improvement in performance at business unit level.Current Role Rob currently provides consulting services, concentrating on Expert Reviews of risk and recommending ameliorating action in Mining Investment Projects, Operations, Major Loss Incidents and Mining Leadership Development.
