National Digital Skills Lead

Current

London, England, United Kingdom

As National Digital Skills Lead at Skills for Care I’ve worked closely with the Department for Health and Social Care, the NHS Transformation Directorate (NHSTD), social care employers and learning providers to successfully deliver a national qualification specification, a range of digital learning programmes, and in contributing to the development of a national digital skills framework. I'm currently managing the delivery of a digital skills programme, commissioned by NHSTD, which includes the delivery of digital skills self-assessments for people and organisations working across adult social care.My work has involved engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across health and social care, successfully delivering projects in developing the knowledge and skills base within social care, to in turn drive greater digital capabilities within the care sector for service transformation, digitisation, health and care integration, and improved cybersecurity. My work at Skills for Care is centred on co-design and co-production, working collaboratively with care staff and people accessing care and support through workshops, focus groups and presentations.I have successfully delivered projects providing digital leadership and digital champions training for social care staff, empowering and enabling them to work with technology to improve their services. This has involved closely working with the NHS to ensure alignment with strategic goals in digitisation and upskilling the care workforce, and establishing a common language and framework for knowledge and transferable skills in using technology across both health and social care.

Feb 2021 - Present

Project Manager

I delivered a project to successfully implement a local shared care record across all GP Practices across the Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System (ICS). This involved wide-spread communications and engagement across the primary care sector, the development of new governance frameworks and business processes, and transforming local services through improved health and care data sharing.Success was achieved through close team working, substantial stakeholder engagement and relationship management, building trust and credibility behind our health and care digital programmes, and the detailed, coordinated communication and delivery of benefits to clinical and care staff.I've also delivered projects to establish the governance and processes behind the secure and beneficial sharing of health and care data between children's health and care services across Surrey, as well as project-managing the onboarding of a shared care record for the local authority and NHS-contracted community services providers.I have delivered positive organisational and cultural change in the local domains of health and care; my projects have contributed to defining and establishing some of the early governance and decision-making architecture within the Surrey Heartlands partnership, with emphasis on the governance behind the sharing of clinical and care information. My work has contributed to building public and professional trust in the sharing of information between health and care organisations, and in promoting a culture of joint staff working between acute and primary care, social care and community services.I have delivered ICS-wide projects to implement collaborative team platforms and portfolio/programme management office (PMO) functions across Surrey Heartlands’ Trust, NHS organisations, Local Authority and Community services, bringing health and care staff together.
