Rob Stein began his career at the Federal Reserve, under Chairman Paul Volcker.In 1994 he founded Astor Financial, the holding company for his asset management ventures. Rob is recognized as a pioneer in the use of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for active management strategies.Astor Asset Management was acquired by Knight Capital Group (NYSE: KCG) in 2010 and Rob served on the Executive Committee to the CEO and Board of Directors. In 2014, he successfully restructured Astor as an independent asset management firm, tripling its assets under management.Rob is the author of three books, including Inside Greenspan’s Briefcase (McGraw Hill) and Finding the Bull Inside the Bear (John Wiley & Sons, 2009). His insights have made him a frequent guest on media outlets such as CNBC, FOX, ABC, and Bloomberg.He founded the I-CARE Foundation, which provides annual grants to Northwestern Hospital to improve patient experiences, and he serves as Vice Chairman of Glenkirk, an organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities.
