Senior Application Engineer, PaymentsVimeo Aug 2014 - Jun 2016New York, Ny, UsMy day to day responsibilities at Vimeo included consulting with engineers and project managers on all things payment gateway related, managing tax and VAT features, fraud prevention, and refining the checkout flow user experience.I rebuilt the payment infrastructure by creating a gateway facade. New gateways can now be easily installed without altering the core objects. New gateway installation time was reduced from 2 months to 2 weeks while increasing transaction integrity. I built the tax form collection portal required to pay out our OnDemand content creators. This required an API integration with a service provider who validates tax form data. I developed a customer communication workflow based on the numerous validation status responses from the vendor. I built a fraud prevention suite that allows our Trust and Safety team to easily monitor suspected fraudulent users. We've significantly reduced the number of chargebacks incurred by stopping them before they happen. Based on the months of data we've now collected, we're now leveraging machine learning to gradually begin to automatically ban fraudulent users with no human review. -

The platform leverages several APIs for order fulfillment, payment processing, and user authentication.The hMVC platform is built on a scalable EC2 LAMP server and continuously deployed and versioned via Git/Github. All static resources are automatically compressed and synced with AWS S3 and distributed to the Cloudfront CDN. Payments, both transactional and subscription, are processed through Braintree’s transparent redirect API. Orders are fulfilled via an API call to a proprietary order fulfillment facade, which is currently connected to 13 pick and pack warehouses as well as the site merchants' own custom warehouses. Authentication is handled by various oAuth service or local authentication.API integrations include Square, AWS SES, AWS S3, AWS SNS, AWS Route53, Facebook, PayPal, Etsy, Venmo, Github, Google Merchants, Google Plus, Google Drive, and more.The platform is built for multiple site management. Sites can possess model, view, controller and resource overrides, allowing for complete customization on a per site basis, allowing for white label implementation.The application features robust order fulfillment, invoicing, inventory management, supply chain management, enterprise email marketing and event management utilities.By giving non-profit organizations and individuals the power to establish direct sales channels to more prosperous countries, we can make drastic improvements to the quality of life for the families and communities that we serve. -

The application form development tools allow developers and project managers to focus on new features instead of replicating code for new products.When I started at NAS, it took 1-2 months to develop the code and prepare the documents for new products. Lead Software EngineerMusicolio Jul 2011 - Oct 2012I built the 2.0 release of musicolio.com. I wrote much of the code myself, but also managed a team of offshore developers. My code contributions included the front end UI, the REST API, and the DB architecture. The platform contains over a dozen third party API integrations, including Facebook, Twitter, Google, Soundcloud, iTunes, and Spotify.In my first month with Musicolio, I increased their user base from 1,500 to 3,500 qualified users by leveraging social PPC and Facebook authentication. The Musicolio 2.0 platform is built on a scalable Rackspace Cloud LAMP server. All static resources are automatically compressed and synced with AWS S3 and distributed to the Cloudfront CDN. Authentication is handled by either Facebook oAuth, Twitter oAuth, Soundcloud oAuth, or local authentication. Every object (user, project, stream item, credit, track, video) can be queried via a simple API call to api.musicolio.com (http://api.musicolio.com/53212) with a JSON response. Authentication was in the roadmap. -
