Associate Architect with over 15 years experience in the profession on a wide-ranging portfolio of projects principally within higher education, workplace and healthcare sectors.I studied at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University and worked previously for a number of award-winning design-led practices in South Wales prior to joining BDP in 2018. I have a specific interest in place-making and how good design can support and promote health and wellbeing and have been a design tutor at the Welsh School of Architecture for several years leading a Masters design unit on ‘Healthy Communities’ - promoting health and wellbeing through design.I am a strong advocate for design clarity - ensuring the concept idea is simple, powerful and well communicated throughout the design process. I visually communicate concept design ideas through clear and effective graphic hand-drawing skills for each project.I have been Project Architect on a number projects for higher education clients, most recently a £10m refurbishment of the Grade II listed Bute Building for Cardiff University to provide a new and consolidated flexible teaching environment for the Welsh School of Architecture.
