Specific experience included:• Managed the provincial strategy for pavement marking and contract renewal.• Brought a formal Quality Management Plan to project delivery for the province.• Served as Project Manager for a $40-million project that includes four-laning, intersections, a new commercial vehicle safety Inspection (CVSE) station with weigh-in-motion technology (WIM) and automatic vehicle inspection (AVI). This project received funding from different sources, including a contribution from the Federal government through the Building Canada Fund. This was a multi-year project with many property purchases, multiple contactors, and many complex issues. • Involved in numerous projects in the range of $2 million to $12 million. These projects were for passing lanes, as well as HIP paving, and mill/fill paving projects. • Served as Project Director for the Peace Flooding 2011 project with responsibility for the delivery of $76 million worth of construction over 260 sites in the Peace area. This entailed everything from forming multidisciplinary teams to hiring project managers to oversee particular projects. Worked closely with over 10 firms for the design, construction, and monitoring of these sites over the past few years. Was also heavily involved in the Recovery aspects with Emergency Management BC (EMBC), as well as the Disaster Finance Assistance Authority (DFAA), where the Ministry is trying to recover the costs associated with the repair of the damage. Primary duties for this position entailed the oversight and management of the maintenance contract for three service areas within the District. This position was responsible for eight full-time equivalents. Major communications with the maintenance contractors and stakeholders within the Bulkley Stikine District, were required and conflict resolution skills were needed on an ongoing basis.

This position was responsible for the Pavement Marking and the Electrical Maintenance for the Northern Region. The Regional Operations Manager gave expert advice for the administration of the Road and Bridge Maintenance Contracts to the 10 service areas within the Northern Region. The Manager, Maintenance Programs oversaw the 28 road and bridge maintenance contracts in the province. In this position there was direct discussion and consultation with the executive of the Road Builders, as well as their members through the road and bridge contracts. Responsible for giving direction and assisting in policy setting for the contracts and their administration. As well, oversaw the fleet management for the province through another manager.

Managed the day-to-day operations of the District via the 13 staff members and provided direction and advice on administering the Maintenance Contract. Was also involved with Development Approval issues, as well as responsible for the district budget and allocations. Involved interaction with community groups, MLAs, and First Nations.

Kamloops, Squamish, Revelstoke

All manners of Highway preliminary surveys, designs and construction. Topog surveys, Bridge Site plans, establishing alignments and cross sectioning, control for arial surveys. Small designs from conception through completion. This all included contruction supervision and survey.
