I represent Invenergy at electricity market regulatory agencies throughout the Eastern United States. Specifically, at the Regional Transmission Organizations (RTO) and Independent System Operators (ISO) for the Mid-Atlantic (PJM) and New York (NYISO). I also represent the company at state Public Service Commissions throughout the Southeast. I engage in policymaking efforts at these venues on behalf of Invenergy and inform internal stakeholders how changes will affect the company's business interests.

I analyzed and verified responses to SEPA’s nationwide utility survey to determine solar market trends and capacity deployment. In addition, I created data visualizations of solar industry regulatory trends for SEPA’s annual Solar Snapshot publication and researched and tracked regulatory and legislative action at state and federal levels relevant to the solar industry.

I researched and summarized state and federal energy efficiency policies of several midwestern state into concise reports for the policy director. I also attended Illinois Energy Efficiency Stakeholder Advisory Group meetings. As a result of this work experience, I have become very familiar with the DSIRE policy database and the Clean Power Plan Final Rule.

I completed two independent consulting projects for non-profit clients that wanted in-depth explanations and analysis of complex sustainability-related issues. For the Madison-Area Bus Advocates, I wrote a research paper that explains all of the federal, state, regional, county, and municipal financial and jurisdictional relationships relevant to transportation decision-making in the Greater-Dane County, Wisconsin region. For RePower Madison, I developed a paper that explains the details of a Wisconsin utility's green pricing program and evaluated how effective the program is at developing renewable energy capacity.

I researched an analyzed several energy policy issues relevant to renewable energy development in Wisconsin. Projects that I worked on include: preforming a sensitivity analysis on a proposed community solar program offered by a utility company, evaluating how electricity rate design impact ratepayers that have made solar and energy efficiency investments, researching how phosphorous regulation in Wisconsin impacts the market for bio-digesters, and conducting a meta analysis of value of solar tariffs in the United States. Through these projects and many others, my work experience at RENEW has allowed me to become very familiar with energy policy, particularly at the state level.

I provided analytical assistance to UW-Madison professors working on a research project that seeks to understand employment trends in Wisconsin. The analysis uses a model developed by the research team to project which NAICS employment sectors will growth the most in the near future. I synthesized large datasets into workable tables using Microsoft Excel.
