Position Purpose: The Event Design & Logistics/Facility R & M Manager will manage all grounds event design, planning, map layout drawings, load-in, setup, run and teardown while contracting directly with vendors to supply and schedule equipment such as tents, trailers, temporary HVAC systems, generators, portalets, etc. This position will also perform Facility Management duties such as grounds repair and maintenance issues including but not limited to paving, striping, fencing, gates. This is an essential position within the Company assigned to co-ordinate requests and challenges of Summerfest internal departments and outside vendors, so that together we contribute to the creation of maps, concepts and documents that will guarantee smooth implementation of a well-planned event. This position manages and supervises the forklift team and Design Intern while directing setup crews, supporting other internal departments such as Security and Marketing so that they can achieve their own particular goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Provide daily technical and event planning guidance to internal departments and external event planners. This position provides various solutions for constructing, implementing and executing various internally and externally produced events. An example is the year-round close working relationship with the Summerfest/MWF Marketing department, determining best placement of Marketplace vendors, mobile exhibitors, and sponsor related activations. This process involves analysis of the Marketing packet and technical specs while planning for best activation locations based on demographic, electrical, water, safety and load- in needs.
