Led multidisciplinary research project, with Chem-E professor, objective to provide a comprehensive Chem-E-Car process design proposal for future University of Iowa AIChE student chapter members to build upon and use in future National AIChE Chem-E-Car Competitions. • Developed scalable predictive model of the chemical reaction kinetics of the degradation of dilute hydrogen peroxide in presence of manganese dioxide. The reaction kinetics of this pressure-driven reaction was then leveraged and designed as the mechanism at which the car operates.• Mathematical framework and predictive model was developed illustrating the kinetic rate laws of the chemical reaction. This was leveraged to determine the precise amount required of the reagents hydrogen peroxide and catalyst for all probable competition scenarios.
