The Cake Syndicate trading as Susan Day Cakes produces various types of cakes including Lamingtons, Fruit Cake, Madeira Cake, Sponge Rolls and Celebration Cakes. The plant has 5 production lines, 200+ employees, runs 24/7 and supplies all major supermarkets across Australia. This role takes full operational responsibility for the business - P&L, WHS&E, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance and Projects.Key skills required in this role include, Leadership, Coaching/Mentoring, Communication, Target Setting, Continuous Improvement, Project Management and Finance Management.Major achievements in my time in this role include:*Significantly improved Safety focus and performance.*Step improvement in customer audit result.*Successful EBA negotiation.*Restructure of the Production leadership team which delivered significant savings.*A review of maintenance and production processes which delivered a 5% reduction in downtime and further labour savings.*Installation and commissioning of 2 major pieces of equipment.*Review of plant cleaning process resulted in contractors being removed and tasks brought in house, this delivered improved cleanliness and significant cost savings.

Responsible for daily fresh production of all branded and house brand bread for Victoria.
