It is a privilege to work in a business that has just recently opened its doors for the first time. Lott's and Co is an independent grocery located in a bustling and food renowned area of Dublin 4 known as Beggar's Bush. I began initially working on the floor and tills to being given the opportunity to supervising staff and processes during the working day in the shop.My role as Supervisor encompasses mostly evening work as I undertake my final year of my Bachelor degree during the morning and afternoon. My duties in the evening time involve completing tasks handed down by management to be done before close, till closing, ordering, refilling and rotating stock. Ensuring good communication is being done between all areas of the shop (Lott's and Co's strongest element) and also making suggestions to management at monthly meetings as to where areas and aspects of the shop can improve and if they can be implemented.Recently, I received a promotion to stock supervisor. This gives me the responsibilities of controlling inventory levels in back of house, ensuring products are fully stocked at front of house as well as communicating with suppliers regarding new products and promotions. It is a job that I thrive in and am gaining a lot of experience from.

Undertook an internship as part of my Transport Operations degree. It runs for 4 months and during my time at the Railway Procurement Agency which oversee the operations of the Luas light rail network in Dublin. The departments that I was based in:Operations - This involved the review of CAD drawings for infrastructure, reporting to supervisors regarding any problems with these drawings. Preparing power point presentations relating to infrastructure as well as conducting weekly track walks to inspect the infrastructure first hand.Rolling Stock - This involved working with Rolling stock staff and manager to oversee the progress related to the future fleet which will be introduced into service once Luas Cross City is complete. THe preparation of project execution plans related to Luas Cross City as well as site visits.Power and System - This involved numerous aspects of work from collection of data to find the amount of red time trams encounter at some of the busiest junctions in the city centre, the upgrading of software to the luas server as well as meetings to discuss how systems can be improved and which are vulnerable.Finance - This involved gathering data relating to environmental performance of water, heating and energy systems of the RPA offices and preparing an environmental report to be included in the annual report of 2015.
