As Senior Manufacturing Engineer with Ford Motor Co. (prior to Ford global restructuring) Rob was responsible for leading a team of engineers to commission & run the latest automated engine manufacturing line. The role encompassed all disciplines (including static & dynamic cold-test) to ensure a defect-free World-Class product with class leading warranty performance.Prior to joining FMC in 1997 Rob worked as a Project Engineer with various automotive component Tier1 suppliers, typically reporting to Director level. His role was usually to develop the manufacturing method, specify, purchase install & commission the equipment, together with all process documentation & gauging to ensure a proven, robust production system was handed over within budget.Specialties: As a blackbelt since 2007, Rob has detailed knowledge of applying DMAIC 6sigma methodology and 29 years successful practical experience of applying Lean/ Continuous Improvement Techniques in the demanding, high precision, automotive sector. The various roles that Rob has diligently performed have exposed him to a vast range of manufacturing & fabrication processes such as casting & CNC machining, forming & joining technology, fasteners & NDT testing as well as producing the associated documentation..
