Rob has held a number of executive and non executive roles in the insurance sector. He has chaired and sat on multiple organisations boards, subsidiaries and committees including regulated positions in the UK.

 Recent non executive roles include the Association of British Insurers; Chair of the Insurance Fraud Bureau; and the Motor Insurers Bureau. Rob has been a key spokesperson for Aviva and the industry on injury reform; fraud ; innovation and customer service.Until recently he was MD of Aviva’s successful UK General Insurance business reporting into the Global GI CEO. Responsible for revenue of £3.5bn; 6 million customers and over 4000 people in a business that covers direct retail; brokers and bancassurance.In addition to this he was Chair of Ocean Marine, one of Aviva’s runoff businesses; Chair of Gresham, which covers its bancassurrance partnership with Barclays and Chair of Solus Automative, its in house motor repairer. In the past, he had responsibility for RAC Legal Services; Asprea, Aviva’s in house building repair business; and bluecycle.com its innovative motor salvage online auction business. He’s participated and chaired roundtables in Westminster on critical industry issues and sat on the Governments Insurance Fraud task-force.Rob joined Aviva in his late twenties after an early successful career in the steel industry for Stanton PLC ,part of the multinational St Gobain group.

Rob is particularly focused on great customer outcomes; innovation around digital and big data; fraud: risk management; leadership development. He is known for his leadership and enjoys mentoring and coaching. He was awarded the Aviva Living legend award in 2015 and Aviva has won General Insurer of the Year for the last 5 years.
