In my life I was very fortunate to play the game of hockey as long as I did, and play at a very high level. I had an unbelievably great opportunity given to me with my try-out with the Colorado Avalanche in 2003. While I was chasing my dream to be an NHL player, though I wasn't in the work force full time, I learned skill sets that would benefit me and allow me to transition from hockey into a full time worker. Leadership, professionalism, public relations and speaking were a few attributes I would learn along the way. To help me transition into the full time work force I would also work in my off season. I was a logger, an assistant merchandiser for Pepsi, I worked with stucco, I painted, and finally made my way into the carpentry field which I loved. I started with K&L Spooner construction as a summer labourer honing my skills in all aspects of the trade. From framing to drywall to fine finishing to painting, the people that taught me were very meticulous and taught me to always have pride in my work. When I finally worked full time with K&L I worked my way up to the position of Foreman\Supervisor where I could in turn pass on my knowledge to the less experienced. I loved and welcomed the challenges of that position including time/cost budgets, stressed clients and being a team leader. I've completed and obtained an entry level diploma in Project Management and I'm continuing my scholastic portion of my Certification. My goal is by mid to late Summer 2015 to be a certified Project Manager.
