Commercial Banking provided financing, risk management & transaction services, Private Banking offered wealth management services, RBSI is a leading offshore bank providing a full suite of banking services to c200,000 retail customers and c50,000 non-personal customers. 2019 combined revenues c£5.7bn, total assets c£220bn.Reporting to Group CFO, accountable for all aspects of Finance including provision of strategic insight and analysis, financial control & reporting, investor/ratings agency presentations and regulatory engagement.• Transformed Finance team from information-providers to ideas-generators delivering tangible, acknowledged, economic value (c£250m) through capital allocation, capital velocity, and pricing model improvements and more efficient operating models. • Worked with Business Heads to develop, refine and execute business strategy, and with Group Financial Control & Reporting (GFC&R) teams to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements. • Supported GFC&R implementing accounting standards (inc IFRS9, stress tests for regulator).• Deep understanding of cost base/drivers for BAU and investment spend. Supported the effective and efficient operation of the division, ran the FLOD control teams, developed business strategy and ran Marketing & Communications team.• Managed Global CoS function (350 people in c50 countries) to drive business execution, coordinate resource planning & allocation, revenue measurement, cost reduction and people matters• Led development of detailed business strategy, to reshape size & scope post financial crisis, maintaining morale whilst closing c35 countries.• Led front office risk & control team, defined and implemented proactive risk management process/culture in IB which was then adopted bank wide.

GBM provided financing, risk management & advisory services to major corporates, financial institutions, and public sector clients globally. Revenues c£5.9bn, total assets c£361bn. Led all aspects of financial performance reporting.• Partnered with divisional CEO, CFO & ExCo to understand and drive business performance• Led cost reporting, analysis, and forecasting (BAU & investment), and end-to-end budgeting process• Created global virtual Decision Support community to promote economic value add culture in Finance, and improve management information.

Responsible for all financial control and reporting, provision of management information for Asset Finance, Financial Institutions and Corporate Coverage, Project & Export Finance, RBS Asset Management and Asset & Portfolio Management.
