I’m a designer, law librarian, and communicator with a JD and a visual arts degree. I have 10+ years of law library experience and have designed professionally for 7+ years. I seek to combine my diverse skills to make a positive impact where I work. If you believe my grandmother, which you should, design came first — she fondly recalls how whenever she’d ask a younger me what I was drawing, I’d consistently reply with “a design.” It took time for design to become a career. Along the way, I discovered that I also enjoy and excel at research and communications. I’ve always enjoyed looking for the best answer, but it wasn’t until law school that I recognized the value of my research abilities, skills I have since honed as a law librarian. Thanks largely to my professors and aunt (an English excerpt), I also discovered and developed my skills as a writer and communicator in law school. As a legal researcher, I’ve watched legal databases evolve, from Westlaw Classic and LexisNexis to the rapidly advancing AI integrations legal databases have recently embraced. I’ve studied how Westlaw and Lexis’ move to a Google-like experience impacted users, led data-based investigations into how SEO-like factors impact citations to legal scholarship, and discovered ways to make legal ranking metrics more current and inclusive (publications below). In design roles, I've conceived and designed websites for various organizations, conducted user testing, created logos, and crafted a range of digital and print marketing materials. I'm used to wearing multiple hats. At Corporate Zen, I was a designer, project manager, and assisted with business development. Currently, I work in the Communications department and the Law Library, while also designing internal and external communications materials for the law school. With a record of navigating the evolving landscapes of legal research, design, and communications, I am eager to contribute my versatile skills to innovative organizations.
