For a start-up organization supported by Vision Service Plan (VSP), built a highly successful Quality Assurance program from the ground up. This included hiring staff, identifying department strategies and goals, generating processes and procedures, creating test strategies and methodologies, educating and training staff, integrating automated testing tools into the testing process, and setting measurable goals to track and report program effectiveness. Since the inception of the program, the department has successfully participated in over 800 production system implementations, testing and verifying over 28,000 enhancements/defects.In addition to managing the Quality Assurance program in Rancho Cordova, CA (7 FTE’s), also manage a complete Quality Assurance program in Irvine, CA (8 FTE’s), a Project Management Team (5 FTE’s), and a Documentation team (3 FTE’s). As contracted by the CA State Lottery, job requirements consisted of the following areas: Reviewed technical documentation/requirements for new Lottery games, promotions, system enhancements, and/or changes/updates to current gaming platforms; Determined testing strategies for newly developed software code, to include timelines, test scripts, individual test cases, resource availability, and environmental challenges; Assisted software programmers with Unit Testing; Performed Integration and Regression Testing for periods of typically 4 - 8 weeks with the goal of producing production system-ready software, utilizing test systems, transaction simulators, network stimulators, and software analyzing tools; Assisted and supported the CA State Lottery Software/Quality Assurance staff with User Acceptance Testing; Created operational procedures for updates and releases; Developed strategies and associated procedures to smoothly integrate new code into production environments; Trained operational staff for new code procedural changes; Performed actual installations of new code on production environments. The software development/testing methodology described above was utilized for such CA Lottery games as Super Lotto, Fantasy 5, Keno/Hot Spot, Decco, Daily 3, Daily Derby, and many related promotions for these on-line public facing games.
