The NEPTUNES project was about Research on noise mitigation from moored ships. Eleven ports around the world took part. I served as main technical advisor on noise and reviewer of the Good Practice Guide and Leaflets on mitigating measures.

Europe

IMAGINE Project (2003-2006): EU funded work for European noise source database and propagation model, follow up of HARMONOISE. I was work package leader industrial noise, with SourceDB; 1,500 times worldwide downloaded noise source database.CNOSSOS (European noise propagation project) (2011-2019): part of the CNOSSOS researcher. Responsible for the Dutch research into the differences between the HMRI (Dutch industrial propagation model) and changes in the CNOSSOS propagation model

Amsterdam Area, Netherlands

Noise Zoning and management: I was in charge of the change of noise zone around Port of Amsterdam involving Port of Amsterdam, Municipalities of Amsterdam and Zaanstad, the Province of North Holland. Researched was performed into in port productivity and noise, influence of seagoing moored ships, number of houses effected, etc.

NOMEPORTS: EU funded research (Noise Management of European Ports) ports. I served as main acoustic consultant and was the principal author of the Good Practice Guide technical annex.
