  • Sussex Bay
    Member Of Advisory Group
    Sussex Bay Jan 2021 - Jul 2024
In 2021, Adur & Worthing Councils approached Wayforward to help bring stakeholders together to explore a new idea for Sussex. We responded with the design and facilitation of a vision workshop, followed by a briefing webinar, for which we curated speakers and created content. These activities brought together hundred of stakeholders across multiple sectors and set the tone for the development of Sussex Bay. The Directors of Wayforward continued to serve on the advisory group to steer Sussex Bay through its formative years and craft its vision and mission, designing its brand, building its website and producing their 'This is Sussex Bay' video. We helped to secure the funding for their first employees, and guided the organisation through constitutional matters such as best legal structures, broader governance and trademarking. We proudly curated and produced the public launch event at Brighton Dome's Corn Exchange in June 2024 and look forward to seeing the initiative go from strength to strength, continuing to connect and support its efforts in blue nature recovery.Sussex Bay is a vision for 100 miles of coastline where our seascape and rivers flourish. A healthy blue ecosystem in which nature, people and local economy can thrive. The blue mirror to the South Downs, Sussex Bay encompasses the sea, coast and rivers from Selsey in the West to Camber Sands in the East. Now more than ever we must bring nature back to our seabed, reefs and rivers. Restoring these ecosystems and their blue natural capital helps protect our coasts from storms, clean our waters, store carbon and support biodiversity. And as nature recovers, people and the coastal economy will benefit too; from sustainable fisheries to enhanced health and wellbeing, and new commercial opportunities in ecotourism and leisure.Go to sussexbay.org.uk, linked below, to find out more.
