I’m excited to have accepted the role of Business Development Manager at RMG Scotland Ltd. It was always a part of the Property Management business that interested me. Every single PM company I’ve worked with had really great BDM’s and I hope to bring all of the wee bits I’ve learned from each of them over the years and add value to this already great BD team. A massive thanks to Taylor and Martin Property Management who were kind enough to bring me in to help for a couple of months while I decided what was next for me. They are a genuine class act from top to bottom. I really appreciate it. 🙏

Delighted to have accepted the role of commercial manager at MCP Scotland Limited. I’ve worked really collaboratively over the last couple of years with these guys and they were the obvious choice for taking the leap back into FM after 10 years in residential property management. We share the core values and I’m genuinely really excited to get in and see what I can bring to the business going forward.

In my current role, I am a Property Manager responsible for approximately 1300 residential properties in developments throughout Scotland. These sites vary in age, type and value offering me a very diverse portfolio to manage. I am responsible for overseeing the day to day management of these properties from hard and soft services, reactive maintenance, pre-planned maintenance to ensuring that the properties are run in line with the Deed of Condition and Service Level Agreement. It requires me to be a good problem solver, mediator and communicator as well as have a good grasp of property legislation, Health and safety legislation and some technical understanding of property maintenance and construction, all of which I think have greatly improved in the 5 years that I have performed this role.

In this position I was responsible for many aspects of fuel services in an area worth £1.1 billion with a 3.5% UK market share across 220 retail sites. These included providing support to all levels of management for areas including maintenance, compliance, pre-planned maintenance, refits & re-branding. I worked closely with service management to ensure that all assets were maximized to sustain trading results. I also provided work instructions, scrutinized and provided input on quotation approvals and ensured compliance with regulations. I also managed relationships with external and internal stakeholders including Facilities, Operations, IT and Suppliers to ensure that all needs were met in serving our sites.

I was part of a team responsible for logging maintenance calls for approximately 4000 sites across the entire Co-operative Group estate. I provided support for maintaining and updating the fault logging system. I also made recommendations for process improvement and successfully implemented by working with suppliers and helpdesk operations. I provided staff training and integrated new staff members into the helpdesk environment. During this period I covered both supervisor and office management duties when required to ensure that all helpdesk functions were maintained successfully.

I worked as part of a team managing commercial and residential developments throughout the west of Scotland. I was responsible for dealing with clients and managing maintenance contracts. I was required to meet with owners to discuss matters pertaining to their properties. This required very good communication skills & knowledge of excel and other Microsoft Office packages. I was required to solve problems on a daily basis & developed a versatility that I feel has benefited me. I was also called upon to train new staff members. I had to use my initiative instinctively to ensure that good customer relations were maintained while managing an extensive portfolio of properties under my care in a professional manner.
