VSO Netherlands utilized my writing skills in support of their fundraising team. I was tasked with the acquisition of funds for specific projects in developing countries. After finding a sponsor I would send them updates and reports about the status and success of their investment.This included sending reports and debriefings to the foundations and trusts that had funded volunteers.When the Marketing and PR teams learned of my background in SEO and movie making they quickly found use for my skills as well. I created several short films for the marketing department, to be used on their social media outlets. I also wrote and edited several articles about the projects of VSO. I hosted several workshops during volunteer meet-ups and created the framework for a re-usable team building event which has been organized several times since its creation. The PR team utilized my writing skills to create several standardized bulk mailings to be sent to their entire pool of volunteers.

Adelaide, Australia

Started work as a PR operative with the South Australian photography team for Gotcha. Was put in charge as team leader after 2 months. In this capacity I was in charge of a team of photographers and PR's, supporting them in completing daily and weekly goals and targets. This included managing the photo shoot location, it's transport and logistics, supporting PR’s and Customer Support and supporting photographers during newborn and infant photo shoots.

Kathmandu, Nepal

I was hired by the Nepalese Office of VSO to create a 30 minute documentary about the progress and accomplishments of their education projects in the remote western region of Nepal. This included scripting, directing, filming and editing, as well as scheduling shooting days and interviews. The film was shot entirely in Nepalese and relied on translators during interviews and editing. Shooting was hampered in Dhangadhi by the outbreak of civil unrest and the mandatory evacuation of all non-essential foreign personnel enforced by the UN.

Briefing and preparing affiliated cinemas for various (movie-related) events. Keeping company website and various Social Media outlets (Youtube, Facebook, Twitter Hyves) up to date. Writing and designing event programmes, translating them from English to Dutch where necessary. In the summer of 2011 the Wolff Cinema Group put all their cinema's under one brand name; Wolff Bioscopen. My tasks also involved updating standard forms, briefings and other paperwork as well as designing and ordering new premiums and promotional gifts.

City Guide and independent supervisor of events for groups ranging from 10 to 150 participants. Tasks included the creation and coordination of events for these groups. On top of that I developed several new tours for the company including an historical tour and a haunted tour. This included the creation of a guidebook for new tour guides. I was an active participant in the development of several new team building events and city games for the company.

I was tasked with the receiving and shipping of the 500+ international movies shown at the festival. I needed to keep in touch with the owners of the copies and inform them of the status and location of their movies. I managed shipping orders, dealt with courier errors and resolved Customs Service issues. I served as the spokesperson for creators, directors and other movie festivals that needed the copies of the films after the festival was done. The copies were sent to us in every possible video format under the sun, ranging from digital, to 35mm reels and beta-Max tapes. The greatest challenge was creating playable copies from all these different formats. During the festival I was tasked with the logistics of getting the correct copies to their display locations.
