My duties as Assistant Bookstore Manager 1 include the primary duties of the position of Bookstore Assistant but as the site manager of the Floyd County Campus.

I assisted the bookstore manager with all operations of running the campus bookstore. Some of the duties included, opening and closing of the store. Operating the registers and maintaining an accurate till count for the POS. Greeted and assisted students in the selection and purchase of books, supplies and general merchandise sales. Ordered and kept stock of textbooks for all semesters. Received in and invoiced items received. Posted accounts receivables and prepared accounts payables for separate vendors. Packed and returned textbooks for requested credit. Made sure store stayed clean and stocked at all times. Counted and maintained a balanced safe, along with tills, to ensure good financial records. Made bank deposits and withdrawals as needed. Worked with students, instructors, faculty and staff to make sure the operation of the bookstore ran smoothly, providing them with exceptional customer service.

I worked with non-custodial fathers, assisting them in registering for courses at Coosa Valley Technical College, continuing education courses and/or finding employment. This was in an effort to provide them with resources to become active and supportive fathers in the lives of their children. This program allowed the fathers ample time to receive educational and employment services without the penalty of being incarcerated for lack of child support payment. Once completing the program, many fathers were quite successful in obtaining gainful employment which enabled them to be more productive in the lives of their children, especially financially. Some fathers were even able to seek and obtain primary custody of their children.
