• Manage activities for vulnerable young people accessing our provision• Built positive working relationships with vulnerable young people aged 13-19 through open access youth service in the borough. London And The South East

After one year as a Youth Consultant I was promoted to Lead Youth Consultant and took on a larger caseload of projects in London & the South East. I supported three young consultants in a supervisory capacity and managed the youth engagement support provided to projects in London & South East region. I designed and developed a package of training for young people that was used across the wider support team including training for BIG Lottery Grants officers. Planned and developed consultation methods designed specifically for young people to gauge their opinions and needs, ensuring that their voice is heard. I plan and deliver a series of informal educational training based on confidence building, youth governance, decision making, and learning & and skills. I submitted monthly reports for the BIG Lottery Fund, created learning summaries from project work and at the end of the programme lead on the creation of a legacy document that collated the learning from the consultant model.

North East England, Various Regions

The Myplace project was Government capital funding for brand new state of the art facilities for young people. YMCA England was part of a consortium of organisations that provided support to each Myplace centre and our focus was supporting the youth engagement of the programme.My role was to work with MyPlace projects to ensure that the active involvement of young people throughout the project lifetime. I had a case load of six projects in the North East region and my duties included: (I) Working with staff and volunteers to devise engagement strategies on attracting and maintaining the interest of young people in the planning, management and reviewing of MyPlace projects and services. (II) To encourage the involvement of young volunteers from across their regions on their local MyPlace projects and services; delivering (III) To plan, deliver and evaluate informal training workshops designed for young people on various areas all aimed at facilitating young people's engagement in the decision making process of their projects

London

Face to face fundraising for various charities. Fundraising with public in London and towns across the South East, I worked with a team to secure long term donations to national and international charities during their campaigns. Received training from charities such as Scope, Mind, NSPCC, Save the Children and Concern on the key messaging of their campaigns and developed a 'pitch' to gain new supporters. This is was a demanding role that was not always an easy one. Working at GIFT taught me resilience, negotiation, tact, patience and a wide range of skills that transferred into future positions.
