I am an active and enthusiastic individual who works well in a team or on my own. I have held teaching positions at two schools including a year as Head of Physics. I have gained experience teaching science to 11 to 16 year olds across all ability ranges and I have experience teaching both As and A2 Physics. I am looking to restart my career after a year and half break from work due to personal circumstances as I am now in a position where I can begin working again.I hold a full UK driving licence and have my own transport. I am a trained radiation protection officer and can use and manage radioactive sources for education purposes.I have always enjoyed my time in the education sector and I am looking forward to getting back to work. The last few months in particular have been very difficult for me and my family and we have discussed at length the transition back into a working environment. I now feel that I am ready to start working again and I am looking forward to the challenges a new a job would bring. I have decided that a slight change in my career direction, moving away from mainstream high school teaching would be the best way for me to re-enter the working world.I have been the crew chief of a successful national drag racing team competing in the Super Gas, and Supercharged Outlaw classes for many years. I am also an Aston Villa supporter and held a season ticket for many years although various commitments over the last few years have meant that I haven’t been able to commit to having a season ticket. I enjoy playing poker in my spare time and I am a semi-successful online player, I also enjoy playing golf when I have the spare time.I have always tried to bring my hobbies into my teaching to engage and excite the learners by bringing concepts to life. Whether it is using drag racing or golf as an example of acceleration or using poker odds as a comparison for the probabilities involved in quantum mechanics.
