Started in DBA-team maintain all the DTAP-environments of Sybase and SQL Server (2008 to 2017). Some of the highlights:• Migrated all Sybase DTAP-environments (> 2TB only for PR) from 12.5 to 15.7.• Automated patching Windows and SQL Server for single and AlwaysOn instances (500+ VMs) using PowerShell and WSUS.• P2V: Created a plan to reduce SQL Server license costs by 200K per year.• P2V: Created a planning and carrying out a project to migrate and upgrade SQL Server databases to Hyper-V (SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014 and 2016). This included 3000+ databases in DTAP-environments including datawarehouses (2TB+ environments) and AlwaysOn.• Migrated core application from SQL Server 2008 to 2016 (including creating a performance test) with JMeter and DReplay.

Came back as a Sybase DBA at the request of the customer. Made several improvements to build and deliver more stable and faster environments. Also made changes to support more different release levels (2-months and weekly releases, different projects and change environments, 3 type of test environments) with each a different set of masked and subset data.

Started as a developer (Uniface, XML, OpenVMS) and then moved on as a Sybase database developer for a BI team. This mainly involved taking care of datamodel changes (on tables, views, stored procedure and triggers) and SQL code review.In team ‘Technical Support Database’, mostly as the only member of the team, maintaining more than 300 instances with more than 3000 databases. This included:• database optimizations (reorg, update statistics) on existing Sybase servers• creating Sybase servers with all aspects to deliver them to the development and test teams (creating the instance, devices and databases, backup & restore, creating Stater specific stored procedures, deploy datamodel changes, mask and subset data).Most of the work scripted in VBScript and PowerShell.
