My team is charged with refactoring our monolithic application in core business micro services, while serving ~800,000 api requests per month. In addition to building out this new architecture, I was also involved with upgrading our ElasticSearch cluster from 1.7 to 6.4. In this role I worked across multiple teams and with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure this project was completed on time.

I help maintain our real-time reporting framework and the API, which allows customers to dynamically build reports that provide them insight into there data. Other areas of focus for me in this role are finding SQL query performance optimizations, in order to provider our customers with performant experience. In addition to the previous, I am also involved in planning for the future of the framework by leveraging agile methodologies and exploring new technology. With the end user always being at the fore-front of everything we do.

As a member of the API and Device Integrations team, I am most proud of my role in which I successfully updated our legacy elevation correction service and wrote an interpolation algorithm to fill in missing elevation data points. Other areas I was involved with include providing updates to our watch application that interfaced with Garmin using their language “Monkey C” and providing direct support to our business partners who integrated with our public API.
