Robbin grew up in Chicago’s South Side, where he swam competitively and started his swim coaching career while attending the University of Illinois Chicago. Coaching has remained his passion throughout his professional career. He values being a "life coach" so that athletes and families carry the positive benefits of swimming beyond the pool.Robbin has achieved the highest national age group coaching ranking - Level-5 –and is able to lead others in high-demand situations, and experienced in successful management of diverse groups of people. He has consistently taken over age-group swim teams and developed them into programs that achieve excellence. Swimmers have achieved state titles, National Top 16 rankings, High School All-American, and World Rankings and qualified for national and international competitions. Robbin demonstrates an exceptional ability to identify potential talent and positively motivate toward improvement. His leadership extends beyond the swimmers to parent groups who have been trained and organized to host well-run major swim meets and triathlons including generating over 40 million dollars of economic impact in Savannah, Georgia. He has conducted coaching clinics in Brazil and Venezuela and organized and led several international training trips.Robbin has served as a consultant to USA Triathlon as a swimming specialist and Chairperson of the National Coaches Commission.For over a decade, Robbin served in various executive roles in The Champion Corporation, the aquatic facility management company he founded. This business operated aquatic facilities and programs in several states. Robbin co-founded the Starfish Aquatics Institute, currently the fastest growing national lifeguard training and aquatic risk management agency in the United States.Specialties: Age-group swim coaching, swim team organization and development, masters swim coaching, triathlon coaching.
