I developed my first website for a sole trader in 1996 using my Amiga home computer.I worked in sales and marketing for 15 years prior to joining the Lincolnshire Echo as web designer in 1998, developing the first of the "this is"​ city sites, a concept which was rolled out UK-wide.In 1999, I joined the East Midlands Development Agency as a Web Developer, where my remit covered the entire development of the agency's websites. We rolled out an ultra secure version for Novartis who needed confidential web casts for their new pharmaceutical product launches.Bringing together my experience in sales and marketing with my extensive web development expertise, I realised that what clients wanted from their online presence and what consumers needed were often at odds.
