Rob is currently the Vice President of Corporate and Business Development at Vocera Communications, a leading provider of intelligent clinical workflow and communications solutions for hospitals. Prior to joining Vocera, Rob was the Managing Partner of Thomas Weisel Venture Partners (TWVP), a $255M venture capital fund that invests in emerging information technology companies. Rob played a lead or co-lead role in TWVP's investments in Application Security (acquired by Trustwave), Arbor Networks (acquired by Danaher), AutoCell, BigFix (acquired by IBM), Control4 (NASDAQ: CTRL), Telesym, and Vocera (NYSE: VCRA), generating a 3.1x return on these investments. Prior to TWVP, Rob was a member of the Technology Investment Banking Group at Thomas Weisel Partners in San Francisco, where he helped emerging growth companies complete Private Placement, IPO and M&A transactions. He started his investment banking career at Montgomery Securities. Rob holds a J.D and M.B.A from Duke University, and a B.A. from Amherst College. He is a Member of the California State Bar Association.
