The Links Shell Cove Golf Course & Shell Cove Tavern is an integrated facility, owned and operated by Shellharbour City Council. In the capacity of General Manager and Licensee, I maintained responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the various business functions across the facility. Critical to my success at Links Shell Cove was my ability to execute a range of strategic initiatives designed to improve revenue streams and realise long-term sustainability. Significant achievements include: ⛳ Business Plan 2012-2016 – developed in response to consecutive losses sustained by the business, I identified a range of process improvements resulting in an increase in revenue and ensured the ongoing viability of the business. This included a reconfiguration of the golf course, construction of a 45-lot sub-division, modernisation of the clubhouse facilities, installation of gaming machines, and the creation of a capital-backing fund. ⛳ Business Plan 2017-2022 – following from the success of the previous business plan, I developed a follow-up plan designed to achieve the business’ ongoing sustained growth. This included the addition of ten gaming entitlements, stage two club house refurbishments, premium SHANX mini-golf facility, four additional water storage ponds, land use plan and feasibility study for an integrated seniors living development, transformation of the retail golf operations, and a catering agreement with an in-demand local restaurant. ⛳ Additional Business Improvements – drawing upon the success of the previous business plans, I executed additional continuous improvement initiatives, including the introduction of enhanced practice facilities featuring Toptracer gamification technology, and the construction of “Backyard Brew” café. I was also successful in guiding the business through multiple disaster-recovery events including the industry lockdowns pertaining to COVID-19, and a major fire that destroyed the ground floor of the facility.

Sunsation Tanning Salon was established in 1999 to offer sun tanning facilities and beauty services to the local Fort Collins community. As Co-Owner and Co-Manager, I was responsible for overseeing the operations management of the business. This encompassed market research, hiring, training, performance management, improving customer relations, and ensuring all works completed were done so in accordance with relevant legislation. Following a sustained growth period, Sunsation Tanning Salon was sold for a profit in September 2003.

Colorado Golf & Tennis, a sporting goods retail outlet in Fort Collins, Colorado, thrived under my management. Reporting directly to the owner, I oversaw a team of six direct reports and drove sales by promoting our goods and services. Additionally, I provided customers with professional, expert advice on a wide range of golf and tennis products.
