One of the key learning experiences afforded during my tenure at Amazon was the opportunity to learn and apply lean processes in a world class operations and outbound shipping environment. This role provided me with a comprehensive foundation in Amazon systems and additional tools to continue to identify process improvements in operations. I am particularly proud to have become a subject matter expert for the ship dock as I took initiative to identify opportunities for increased responsibility and further my impact on efficiencies within the organization.Key accomplishments in this role:-Oversaw staffing requirements and balanced headcounts with volume to achieve and exceed 900+ dock rate goal.-Owned the primary bottleneck for outbound operations during record setting back-to-back 1M package days.-Effectively prioritized and multitasked between 50+ package sorts distributed through 22 conveyor loading doors, 6 forklift loading doors, and 14 hand stacking lanes.-Implemented an operating design that included the workflows, material equipment requirements and physical layout for the transshipment area, through a 5S project that established a safe, organized and efficient work space for all shifts.-Created a process guide for managing volumes, headcount, rate coaching and problem solve issues. -Established and led team standup meetings in the transhipment department to establish and promote safety, standard work and productivity goals.-Developed shipdock associates, directly supporting 6 to earn promotions.-Led the transhipment area team, maintaining consistent, on-time materials flow to meet production schedules and customer requirements.-Established and maintained effective working relationships cross-functionally, including key stakeholders such as internal employees, external network operations teams, and third party contract drivers.
