I am a seasoned higher education leader with over 30 years of experience, known for driving transformative change and strategic innovation. As President of St. Cloud State University (SCSU) for 6 years, I led the "It's Time" initiative, significantly revitalizing the university's identity and strategic direction. This initiative resulted in notable increases in enrollment across undergraduate, graduate, and transfer students, reversing a long-term decline. Through innovative programs like Husky Student Success Coaches and Huskies Advance, SCSU improved student persistence and retention rates while also expanding new enrollment via new programs in emerging fields. I demonstrated a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and globalization by leading and implementing strategies to close equity gaps and growing international partnerships and enrollment.As the founder of the Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) division, I made it possible for SCSU to provide non-traditional pathways for professional development, and corporate training, In government and community relations, I actively engaged with state and local legislators, as a member of the Minnesota State system, securing support and funding for university initiatives.My leadership in fundraising resulted in a successful campaign that secured significant donations for key university projects. Additionally, I implemented an alumni outreach strategy, increasing engagement through events and initiatives both domestically and internationally.Recognized as a "Twin Cities Business 100 for 2024" and a "Notable Leader in Higher Education" by Twin Cities Business, I have also been honored with the Outstanding Woman of Weld County Award and the Cornerstone Author recognition by Sage Publications. I have served on various boards and professional associations, including the Mayor’s Downtown Taskforce, the Initiative Foundation and the Greater Saint Cloud Development Corporation.I continue to be an active scholar and have co-authored books and articles on aging, community resources, and service delivery, as well as delivering keynote addresses and presentations at international conferences on higher education, leadership, and international development.With a proven track record in driving transformation, fostering innovation, and promoting excellence, I am delighted to share my experience and help leaders and institutions achieve strategic growth and sustainable success.
