As the CEO of Space Group for more than 15 years, I have seen significant transformation within the construction and property sectors. At Space, we embrace change as an opportunity to enhance outcomes for our clients. My career has been driven by a commitment to innovation and creativity, fundamental elements that shape everything we do.In recent times, the environmental impact of buildings has become more apparent. Mitigating this impact is a priority as we look for ways to reduce carbon production in construction and operation.

I joined Sunderland Council as a young architect looking for experience.The city was going through a period of investment, allowing me to lead several key projects. These included the development of the Transport Interchange, which received a national Civic Trust award, and Crowtree Leisure Centre.I also worked with the Housing Department on their modernisation programme over several years. This department went on to become Gentoo Group.My time at Sunderland was invaluable throughout my career, providing an understanding of local government and the public sector.

My career started at Waring and Netts Partnership in 1991. Today that business has become Space Group.I left University in Leeds and joined the practice for my Part 1. I returned to Leeds to complete my diploma and rejoined Waring and Netts to achieve my professional exams.I qualified as a Chartered architect in 1995.This was a time for learning and where I built the foundations for my future career.
