He has been a featured presenter for various leagues and bodies, business associations and conferences. After logging nearly two million miles in Game Face’s first 12 years, Rob decided to stay home and respond to the prodding of others to run for US Congress. Though unsuccessful in being elected, the experience proved to be unimaginably rewarding. Ceo & Founder
CurrentGame Face has been innovating solutions for its myriad of clients for more than two decades. At the time of its founding, as the first executive training firm in the sports industry, Game Face parlayed Rob’s challenge of marketing and selling Los Angeles Clippers assets in the early 90s to a proprietary system for selling any product or service imaginable — regardless of its past or present performance. When teams like the New York Mets, Chicago Bulls, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Celtics needed an assist in sales, they could have chosen from a number of willing local providers. But each called on Rob because his principles and practices work! No one understands selling in good or rough times better than him, and his entrepreneurial talents have turned Game Face, a household name among sports practitioners, into a trusted consulting and training firm for businesses new and old, large and small. With nearly 400 diverse companies, non-profits, sports teams and athletic departments among Game Face clients worldwide, individuals and organizations needing coaching - whether in sales, management, communications, speaking engagements or presentations - turn to Rob and Game Face for results.
Vice President, Investor & Government Relations And Corporate Marketing & Communications
On the heels of two congressional campaigns, Rob was hired to quarterback this century-old private company's IPO. Recognizing his deep network with local and state government officials and influencers, he was also charged with overseeing external and internal communications as well as brand marketing around the 100-year anniversary.
Two-Time Congressional Nominee
Rob was nominated by his party to run against a seven-term incumbent in 2010 and lost in the general election for Oregon's 1st Congressional District. He was again nominated in 2011 to run in a special election to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of the congressman. He eventually lost to the Democratic nominee in January 2012.
Sales Manager
Promoted to sales manager after just five months as a marketing representative, Rob and his team gained the NBA's attention by increasing the number of sellouts from 3 to 17 in one season (1991-92). By the end of his second season, he was invited to join renowned sports marketer Jon Spoelstra at SRO Partners in Portland, Oregon as director of marketing. Two years later his dream of becoming the ultimate sales coach for the entire sports profession was realized and Game Face was born.
